Elkins Build Group is led by Dustyn Elkins, who was born and raised in Escondido.

Dustyn served in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, rose to team leader, and completed two tours in Iraq. After his second tour he became a single father to his infant daughter and left the Army to raise her. He went to work in construction, earned his California general contractor license in 2014, and built his first company, Noble Construction, to a 14-person team while going back to school.

That experience shaped how Elkins Build Group works today. Instead of a large payroll, Dustyn built a team of industry-leading professionals: a residential designer, structural engineers, and licensed specialists carrying general liability insurance for every trade. Each part of your project is handled by people who do that work every day. Dustyn oversees every job himself, and you see the progress in your own project dashboard every week.

The values he carried out of the Army still run the company: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. On a job site that means clear scope, honest numbers, and doing what we said we would do.

Serving beyond the job site

The daughter he left the Army to raise is now in college, and service is still part of his life. Dustyn founded D.A.R.T. (Direct Action Response Team), a nonprofit built to strengthen disaster response and help communities in crisis, with a mission of search and rescue, emergency evacuation and logistical support alongside established emergency services. The belief behind it is the same one behind Elkins Build Group: when people are counting on you, good intentions aren't enough. You need trained people, reliable equipment, strong partners, and a team that's ready to act.
